Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals was one of the winners of the International Natural Health Beauty Awards 2016.
What is it?
Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals is a foundation and most importantly a treatment serum with pigments that hydrates, calms inflammation, plumps the skin and helps minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines.
It comes in an airless pump cylinder. Inside the cylinder, you can see different coloured beads floating in a clear gel which consist of Aloe Vera Gel. Aloe Vera Gel has wound healing and anti-inflammaroty properties which help to improve the skin's natural firmness and keep the skin hydrated.
The beads which are visible in the airless pump are liposomes encapsulating liposomes. In another words, the beads are entrapping the active ingredients which are then released into the skin in a time-released manner.
What's in the beads?
The beads contain active ingredients which consist of minerals (Titanium Dioxide, Boron Nitride), Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Coenyme Q10, White Tea Leaf, Willow Bark Extract, Calendula, Seaweeds etc...
When you first pump, the liquid minerals you will notice a clear gel like texture which is the Aloe Vera Gel. It might take a few pumps for pigmented liposomes and the clear Aloe Vera Gel to mix properly. The clear Aloe Vera Gel that comes out is still full of skin care benefits so instead of washing it off apply it onto your face or hand.
When pumping out the liquid minerals foundation, the beads and the aloe vera clear gel are mixed into a mousse and when blended onto the skin with foundation brush/flocked sponge will provide a natural, moistured, soft and dewy finish looking skin with light to medium coverage. The feel is like having a second skin.
Once the pigments are dispensed, blend the mixture and apply the liquid minerals on your skin with foundation brush or flocked sponge.
My tips on application of Jane Iredale Liquid Mineral Foundation in 4 Steps
- 1.Prime your skin with Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener or Smooth Affair for Oily Skin. This will create a smooth surface which minimises the appearance of pores and fines lines and also allow your make up to adhere better to the skin.
- 2.Pump the Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals two to three times on the back of you hand.
- 3.Blend with the foundation brush or flocked sponge in circular motion on the back of your hand until all the ingredients are blended.
- 4.Apply the mixture with foundation brush/flocked sponge on to the skin in criss cross motions.
Since Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals does not have SPF, we recommeded that you apply a light dusting of Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Baseor Amazing Base on top for a little extra coverage, sun protection and a long lasting look.
If you are looking to set your Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals and provide a matte finish then we recommend that you apply Jane Iredale Pure Matteor Amazing Matte as they are designed to eliminate shine, oil and create a matte finish.
How to choose the right shade for your skin?
When choosing a shade, it all depends on your skins undertone.
If you have a warm yellow undertone then we recommed Warm tone such as bisque, warm silk, amber, warm sienna, golden glow or latte.
For a cool pink undertone we suggest light beige, natural or honey bronze.
For a neutral undertone then we recommend radiant, satin, suntan or caramel.
